Tangling with Bears (The Cloverleah Pack series) (Volume 8)
Kurt and Luke have been mated for three years. As bear shifters, Kurt has known from puberty that he will two mates and once he'd claimed Luke, his mama warned him to be on the look out for a human female. So when Luke rings him and lets him know he might have accidentally on purpose bitten a wolf shifter, from some town they'd never heard of, Kurt heads to Cloverleah to sort out the mess.
Sorting out their mating is just one of the things the three men have to contend with. A magic user has stepped up his game and no where on packlands seems safe. When Tobias gets taken, Kurt and Luke are helpless to do anything about it. It's going to take the power of the pack before life will be safe again, for any of them.
Warning: Contains scenes of M/M and M/M/M sex. It also contains a special kind of bear, his grumpy mate, and a wolf that just wants to be loved. HEA and no cheating guaranteed.
While this book can be read as standalone, you will understand more about the secondary characters in the book, if you have read the others in the series.

Enjoyable addition to this shifter series - 4,5 stars
The Cloverleah pack is still expanding. The Fates seem to know what they need and send the right type mate their way. Last time it was the ruler of the vampires and now there are two bears on their way to this exceptional pack. Tobias has seen his friends meet their mates and is more than a bit envious. With his background he is more than ready to find someone who could love him. Some hurtful words from a lover sends him off on a hunt after an anonymous hook-up. And he ends up being claimed by Luke. Luke is a special man. He is already mated with Kurt and now he is a bit single-mindedly keen on telling Kurt about meeting their third. But he does not explain it to Tobias and Tobias leaves for his friends' wedding. Kurt travels to this place he has never heard about, to sort out things. He cannot believe that their third is a male shifter. He has always believed it would be a human female. This mating is not easy. It takes some work. And in addition the Alpha of this pack is wary of bears and needs some convincing to accept these two bears into the pack. And the enemies are still lurking in the background, planning and conspiring. It's a series and I think it's best to read it in order. In that way the reader will best understand the approach to the shifter idea. But of course, it is not totally necessary. I really like the way Ms Oliver writes her books, but I still wish the editing was better. Too often there is a "too" where a "to" should be and the other way around.
Do NOT miss this book!!!
OMG! This book is so amazing! If you have no read this series yet I can’t stress enough that you need to start!!! First of all I love, love, love, Luke!!! I love to see inside his head! It is a riot!!! Luke – He couldn’t watch the fireworks though because his mouth was throwing a party and it was epic Luke – Tobias wouldn’t like that … but he could shift really quickly, so that would be okay and the weather was definitely warm enough, and maybe Kurt would shirt too and they could all be make in the water together. . . . . Love the dream world through Luke’s eyes. It’s a truly an amazing place that you are privileged to see. It’s so special there! Wait until you see! I know I keep going on and on about Luke, but .. . You know when you have a ton of dialogue and you tend to skip a bit? With Luke? You can’t! You want to know everything little thing that he is saying and thinking! Tobias is an amazing man!! I had a terrible childhood and he needed to heal. The only on that could help him was Kurt in the dream world. Then? We get to see inside Kurt’s head! He is so dominant, so in charge, so in control! What exactly is he thinking inside his head? It’s awesome! Don’t miss this!!
4 Stars ~ Series Is great!
This is book 8 in Lisa Oliver's Cloverleah Pack Series and in this one we get to continue our plot from the previous seven books and meet some new characters, overall a fun paranormal gay romance. If you have not been to the Cloverleah Packlands before then you might only expect to find wolf shifters upon arrival to this world. You would be wrong! Ms. Oliver has created a paranormal delight in this one-of-a-kind pack which includes: more than one alpha, in-fact more than 75% of the Cloverleah pack is made of Alpha Males (yummy testosterone), then we have A Panther Shifter who is royalty from his area, a shifter guardian (sorta like a boss of all shifters), an Omega wolf (unheard of anymore in this world), Fae-shifter mix (who is Regent of Fae's), Two Fae Princes (because Fae mate in three, ménage yummy), an old as hell and powerful Vampire, and we have beta wolves, one of which, Tobias, who is now mated with bears shifters now. Two bear Shifters in-fact are added to this unique Motley Crüe of a pack and they are fierce and protective of their mate whom they meet during a romp at a truck stop. Tobias, beta-wolf/wolf enforcer is fierce so it makes sense that is mates would be fierce as well!! Kurt and Luke they have been mated for three years now, both bear shifters from a sleuth that always has people mated in threes or polyamory - Kurt and Luke know they are going to have a third - they just always assumed it would be a female (human) who could bare their cubs. So imagine Kurt's surprise when Luke phones him stating he has found their third, in a truck stop, in a little out of nowhere town and oh yeah he may have gotten so excited he claimed him! Him, not a her. Oh and he is a wolf! Kurt doesn't question whether Luke could have made a mistake however he knows his little bear mate would not mess this up (well not intentionally, because Luke doesn't have a mean bone in his body) now it's up to Kurt to help Luke find their wayward mate before their little wolf gets sick - wolves don't do well without their mates once claimed. Tobias can't believe that big guy bit him! After he is zapped out of the truck stop thanks to his packs shifter guardians easy travel style, Tobias vows to put that experience behind him. Best way to get over one is to get under another.... Only problem is, a part of his body won't cooperate now. WTF! He has never had issues with performance. Ever since that guy bit him! How will this happy meeting end? How is Tobias going to like the fact that he was claimed and didn't even know it? What about the fact that he was claimed by a mated bear? The Cloverleah pack has had bad experiences with bears in the past, will they accept Tobias's mates? On top of all this someone is still attacking the pack and now they are using magic that even the Fae can't understand.. How will they ever survive this installment - intact as one of the strongest packs around? You are going to have to read this book and find out! Lisa Oliver continues to be creative in her ways of adding new characters, ramping up the action, keeping the story lines going on well-known characters, and mixing it all together to create a well-planned, fast-paced, action packed, unique and fun story!! If you haven't read this series you really should start at book one and give them a chance to grow on you... They are so worth it! 4 stars for Book 8 in The Cloverleah Pack Series ❥❥**'¨) ¸.•'¸.•*'¨) ¸.•*¨) (¸.•' (¸.•`*Book Purchased and reviewed by Jaime from Alpha Book Club
Tangling With Bears
I was thrilled when this Cloverleah book came out. Eight books now and still going strong -- This is the story of Tobias, a valued wolf shifter for the pack. He is getting antsy for a mate. A chance meeting at the local truck stop changes his life. Luke was the lucky bear that found Tobias, marked him, then went to find his other mate, Kurt. Talk about misunderstanding and the power of bleach! The story focuses on the pack there in Cloverleah and yes there are more threats and at first the pack treats Kurt and Luke as threats. The situation with Tobias, Luke, and Kurt was well done and their relationship was interesting and fun. I enjoyed Luke, how he thought, his talents, and how he became a valuable member to the pack. His mates were wonderful with him and I loved how they grew as a triad, supported and encouraged each other. We don't get as much background on Kurt, as most of the mating was about Luke. He really stole the show. The mystery threat affecting the pack takes on a life of it's own. Because of that the guys are off in meetings, fighting, or patrolling as well as learning how to interact with the pack. There's a lot going on and barely any time for their triad. We barely scratched on what Tobias's mates can do and we didn't see if Tobias is more alpha after sleepwalking. Yes. I was curious. While I read all the books in this series and re-read everything before the 7th book. .. . I was lost when reading this one because every single character got ample page space. It wasn't quite an info dump but I was bogged down for awhile trying to place everyone and ending up blank. May I suggest a glossary to refresh our memories? - Dan's Wife
This triad wonderful
I loved this book and the triad of the wolf Tobias from the Cloverleah pack and his bear mates Kurt and Luke. This mating is just perfect and you can't help falling in love with Luke the bear, he's just the biggest sweetheart and just so innocent and pure. The pack is in trouble as usual, but they also keep adding more members to the pack and are getting stronger and stronger. And it's going to get more interesting with the mate that's coming in the next book.
What a Sweet Story!!!
My boys are back! This book is the next in Lisa Oliver's Cloverleaf Pack series. And this story lived up to the rest of the Cloverleah books. Loved Luke, Kurt and Toby! Lisa's books have great MC and always HEA. And I also get to find out what the characters from her other books in the series are doing because they are included. As an avid reader, I have have always enjoyed reading Lisa Oliver's books. The characters are interesting and the story always gets me invested quickly. I eagerly wait for her next book and buy it as soon as I can. From the very first book I ever read of hers to this one, I can't get enough. A truly enjoyable book!!!!
One of her best ever!
There are times when an author can take a series too far and continue to write about characters that we no longer care about. This is NOT one of those times. If this is your first time reaching for a Lisa Oliver book, you have been missing out on a great series and this book is no exception. The main characters, Tobias, Luke and Kurt all have past issues and hurts that they have to work on before they are able to have their HEA. This story incorporates the idea that even someone with a perceived "defective or simple" mind can still have talents that make them a valuable member of society or a pack. I truly loved this book and it will definitely be on my re-read pile. Just buy the book and step into the world of the Cloverleah pack. I dare you. :-)
Another amazing story!
Shawn is all for pack diversity and although Kane struggles a bit with all the different types paranormals, he is now the Alpha of the most divers pack in history with two bears added to the mix. This is another great Cloverleah pack story . It's the story about two bears finding their mate while the pack is once again threatened by outsiders. I just love the differences between Kurt and Luke and how they are both needed by Tobias.
I'm speechless and overwhelmed and happy and teary-eyed and exhausted
I'm speechless and overwhelmed and happy and teary-eyed and exhausted...and babbling. Whew. I feel like I've been run through a wringer. Where her characters are concerned, Lisa Oliver is a meanie and makes Kurt, Luke and Tobias work their tails off for their HEA. Luke, sweet, wonderful Luke, was shunned by his family and clan for being "defective", Tobias was abused and neglected by his family and shunned by his pack, and Kurt, stalwart, quiet, standoffish Kurt is a real surprise. Yes, that's a tease; I'm not gonna post spoilers. Lisa Oliver is on my auto-buy list. I have all of her books and I treasure each and every one. This book is simply astounding. Kudos, Ms. Oliver.
Book 8 and still going strong
4 stars I enjoyed this addition to the series. This one introduces the two bear shifters Kurt and Luke. They are both great mates for Tobias. Before this book the two fae were my favourite characters, providing comic relief with their antics and Jax's total inability to control them but after this book Luke is by far my favourite character of this series. Luke's character is handled with care, he came alive on the page and was a pleasure to read. My only wish is that we could have spent some more time with the three guys on their own without the other characters but the plot didn't really allow it. Looking forward to the next instalment
